1:1 Reception Teaching Assistant – Ulverston Area Contract Full Time

We are currently looking for Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a reception child at a primary school in the Ulverston area. 

The child has severe Autism with nonverbal communication. They have good behaviour, but they are quite impulsive with their movements but will listen and follow instructions.  

Responsibilities of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

• Supporting the student with the delivery of education needs
• Supporting the student with emotional needs
• Sometimes they need manual handling support

For this role, applicants who apply will have:

• A minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (Supporting Teaching and Learning) or a minimum of 1 year’s work experience/employment as a Teaching Assistant in a school setting (you must be able to provide recent references).
• Confident communication skills and to be a motivator in the classroom (1-2-1 or small group support).
• A current Enhanced DBS that is registered with the Update Service, or you will be prepared to apply for a new DBS with us (cost applied).
